Pour the resin into thin layers: To prevent the accumulation of bubbles within the resin, pour it into a thin layer. If you pour thicker layers, you’re more likely to trap air bubbles, making it difficult for them to escape to the surface.

The bubbles can gradually rise and escape by pouring in thin layers, leaving you with a smooth and bubble-free finish.

After locating the bubbles on the resin apply, direct the heat gun or torch heat toward the bubbles to encourage them to rise and pop. Focusing on the bubbles will cause them to expand and burst, resulting in a smooth finish.

Continue heating the surface until it appears clear and bubble free. Being patient during this process, as it may take some time for all the bubbles to rise and pop.

Avoid excessive heat application as it leads to issues like discoloration or warping.

Resting and Curing: Allow the resin to rest for a few minutes after removing bubbles. Each brand of UV resin has different curing times. Carefully read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the specific curing times. This will ensure that your project cures appropriately and achieves the desired result.

Avoid touching the resin during the curing process. Once the resin has been poured, any disturbance can introduce new bubbles or imperfections into the resin surface. Resist the temptation to check the curing progress by poking or probing the resin. Allow for the resin to cure undisturbed to achieve the best result.

After the resin is cured, check for any imperfections or bubbles on the surface. They can be sanded or polished to achieve a smooth finish if you notice any. To sand down the surface with finer grits of sandpaper or polishing compounds.

In the end, applying resin requires concentration and careful execution to achieve a bubble-free finish. Slow and steady pouring technique and avoid overworking the resin. When followed initially and often, these simple methods will reduce bubble occurrence on your resin craft project.
